Consultancy & custom projects

Software and data projects built by people who know sport.

We build dashboards, data pipelines, web apps, mobile apps and websites for clubs, federations and universities.

Examples of custom sport analytics software: an athlete weight analysis screen and a data import tool
Sport Horizon upgraded our data processing and visualisation systems with exceptional support and guidance. Their work has helped us answer key questions around load monitoring and athlete development, and we've since continued collaborating to upskill our performance staff.

What we build

From a single report to a full platform

These are the common ones. If your project isn't listed, describe it and we'll tell you honestly whether we can do it.

Reporting

Dashboards and reports

Power BI and Tableau reports on GPS, wellness, testing, medical and match data. Built for the person who has 5 minutes before a meeting.

Pipelines

Data pipelines and integrations

Automated feeds from STATSports, Catapult, VALD, CCAthletics and your own systems, through APIs where they exist and clean exports where they don't.

Data models

Databases and data models

Athlete IDs that match across systems, one place for the numbers, and a structure your next analyst can follow. SQL and Snowflake.

Web apps

Web apps and staff portals

Internal tools for your staff: data entry, wellness forms, planning and reporting, with logins and permissions that fit your department.

Mobile

Mobile apps

Apps for athletes and staff, such as daily check-ins, questionnaires and quick access to the reports people need on the move.

Websites

Websites and landing pages

Websites for clubs, academies and programmes, plus event pages, booking forms and anything that needs to look like your organisation.

Embedded

Embedded analytics and custom visuals

Power BI inside your own portal or app, plus HTML visuals for the charts standard Power BI can't draw.

Bespoke tools

Automations and custom tools

The spreadsheet someone rebuilds by hand every week, replaced by something that runs itself. Calculators, integrations and small internal tools.

Advice

Data and technology reviews

We look at what you collect, what gets used and where quality slips. You get a written list of what to fix, what to build and what to buy.

Why Sport Horizon

Engineers who understand the dressing room and the data room

Sport knowledge

We speak the sport

We know the difference between session RPE and GPS load, and why the physio and the head coach want different views of the same player. You don't have to explain your department to us first.

Built in-house

We've built it ourselves

Sport Horizon runs its own analytics platform, with live connections to four tracking and testing providers. We know where these projects get awkward because we've been there.

Education

We teach it

3,000+ practitioners have learned with our courses. That's why handover works: we know how staff pick up new tools, and where they get stuck.

Team

One team, start to finish

The people who write the code and the people who know sport work on the same project. Nothing gets lost between the brief and the build.

How a project runs

Four steps, with working versions along the way

01 · Scope

A call about the problem

What does this have to help someone decide or do? We ask how your staff work today and where it slows them down.

02 · Propose

Scope, timeline, price

You get it in writing and approve it before any work starts.

03 · Build

Working versions, early

We build in stages and share what we have, so changes are cheap while there's still time to make them.

04 · Hand over

Your staff take it on

Documentation, a walkthrough and a session with the people who'll use it every week. For software, that includes the code and deployment notes.

Consultancy information

Frequently asked questions

No. Power BI and Tableau for reporting, SQL and Snowflake for data, and web apps, mobile apps, websites and custom software for everything else. If your project isn't on the list, describe it and we'll tell you whether it fits.

Per project. After the first call you get a written scope, timeline and price. You approve it before we start.

Usually a data export or read-only access, and one person on your side who knows what the staff need. The proposal spells out the rest.

Yes. We review what's there, tell you what's worth keeping, and either fix it or rebuild the parts that are holding you back.

Yes. We can start on anonymised or sample data, and we're happy to sign an NDA.

Ownership and licensing are written into the proposal, so there's nothing left to guess later.

A handover session is part of every project. For wider upskilling across a department, see our Club packages.

A small Sport Horizon team of software engineers, data specialists and people with sport experience. The person you speak to on the scoping call is the person who leads your project.

We're taking projects now, and we run a limited number at a time. Put your deadline in the first message and we'll tell you straight away whether it works.
